Students who are Work Ready: ATC-SG&O students will have completed a variety of short courses and work experience before they become employed by you.

Regular Mentoring: one of the features of the ATC-SG&O is that students will be case managed by ATC-SG&O staff and will be regularly visited on site. Employers will have the opportunity to regularly discuss the progress of the student with the ATC-SG&O mentor.

Longer times at work: Students can come to work for you from anytime of 1 day per week up to 4 weeks in a row.

Trade related Curriculum: Students from the ATC-SG&O will be studying subjects that relate more closely to situations found in the workplace. Students will also complete extra shorter courses that have been recommended to the ATC-SG&O by our regular consultations with employer groups.

Industry Leadership: The governing board of the ATC-SG&O is made up of key industry people who decide the direction of the college.

Safety: ATC-SG&O students will complete several OHS&W courses before they commence work.

Business and Legal Knowledge: ATC-SG&O students complete short courses relating to small business management and industrial relations. This adds to the overall advantage of employing an ATC-SG&O student.

Financial Benefits: Please visit http://www.australianapprenticeships.gov.au to find out more.  Student Apprentices are only paid for the time they work, not when they are in training.

Hassle Free: ATC-SG&O students are monitored closely by the college and our staff will consult regularly with employers. The local Australina Apprenticeship Centre, will handle all contracts.

Mould the employee the way you want!: ATC-SG&O students begin to think and act like tradespeople. They may be asked to work in their school holidays and stay at school after 3.30pm. By employing them at the start of Year 11, your business can mould them into the company’s work ethic by the time they finish Year 12.
